In the end

Today is the last day of classes here at SUU for the spring semester. Next Thursday at 3 pm, I have my last final. Shortly afterwards, I'm checking out of the dorms and heading to Murray to stay at my grandma's house. I plan on staying Friday in Ogden and then making the 9 hour trip home on Saturday.

Crazy that I haven't exactly updated since Spring Break, so I guess I can update now.

About two weeks ago, I went up to Murray and visited my Grandma Turner. I have sad news, she's back home to live out the rest of her days. My Aunt Sherrie is there taking care of Gma, but we don't know how long she'll last. Although she was really happy to see me.
Here she is. For those who pray, please keep her in your prayers that she'll have an easy passing when the day comes.

Other than that, I've been busy with school and some work. Last night I finally finished my graphic design final. We were assigned to make a graphical timeline. My subject is the US presidents. I decided to use Meg Jannott's brands that she made for the presidents and include a short bio and a head-shot. I emailed Meg and she said I could use her logos, but I had to recreate them. She didn't email me the original logos, and I don't blame her. As designers we really don't want people ripping us off by freely using our work.

Update: May 17, 2013

So, blogger didn't want to post this post when I wanted to, so now I'm finally updating today. School is out for the summer and my days are spent in front of a computer or in a book. I still work for SUU: CPVA, but that's a fast job in the mornings. I'm working for a local, small business selling window washing services, but that's slow and usually in the afternoon. I applied to Staples last week and I should hear from them by next week. You may have noticed that I added a Pinterest icon under the Social Media section on the right. It's true, I have one. I actually got it today. I need to get my art out into the world, and Pinterest is a good way to do that. I'm hoping to start a kickstarter.com project this summer. I'd like to print all-over shirts with my designs. What's all-over you ask? It's where the entire front or back is printed with the design. It's rather cool. My long-term goal is to do another project closer to graduation to receive enough funds to buy start my own small, shirt company. I'll need money to buy the press, screens, and shirts to get off of the ground. Hopefully it'll go well. That's also why I want to do a project this summer to get my name and art out so that when the time comes for me start the bigger project, people will already know my name and art. I'm also in the process of updating my website. Well, that's about it for now. Later!
