You see, Andy Marvick was more funny today in class then in previous times. His jokes are all related to Art History, but it's the way he tells them and pokes fun at some students (all professionally of course) that makes him funny. He ended the lecture by showing what people have done with Kandinsky's famous painting, which I can't remember the name... I saw shoes with the artwork printed on them, even a lunchbox! Creative people.
Off to Graphic Design with Val Taylor. Today's lecture, after the critiques, was about Chapter 6; Visual & Color. Aka, it was me reading up about blurb.com and their pricing, etc. Yeah, I know. I should've paid attention, but what he was talking about, I basically knew already. On the bright-side, we did get out of class early. The only homework (for this class) is to read chapter 7. As for typography...we have a large assignment to do. We have to handwrite over a self-portrait of things that describe us. On a 11x17 inch paper. Where can I sign up for a hand transplant? (This is when I start shaking my head, thinking about this task that I'll start tomorrow.)
Coming back to my Wednesday...Since we got out early from class, I decided to have a somewhat early lunch. Have you ever seen those instant, tuna sandwich packs that Walmart sells? It's $1.50 and it's tuna salad in a bag. Just add bread and viola! You have a tuna sandwich. Great stuff. So, that's what I had for lunch. That and sour cream & onion chips, strawberry kiwi juice, and "sour," gummy worms! (They're not really sour...) If you think about it, this is the longest blog I've done in a while, that and it's the longest, NEW post that I've done on the new template. What you guys think of this new template? Which did you like better, this new one or the old one?
As I ate lunch, I watched some Jackie Chan Adventures. I even started on my entry for threadless.com's "East meets West" contest. Once the submission is online, I'll link it and then everyone can vote on it. Yes, everyone is in italics for a reason. If I win, (again with the italics) I will get, well, here's the link to find out. Here. If the link doesn't work, then it's dead. Not my fault. Blame threadless.
At 1:00 pm, I had Institute; Atonement & The Book of Mormon. (Who here hasn't read this amazing book? If not, please do so.) Today was my day to give the spiritual thought and I shared 2 Nephi 7:11. My thought process was that we need to walk in Christ's light and not in our own. The Words of Isaiah can be confusing, but that's what I got from this verse.
The rest of my afternoon was spent on my threadless submission. That is, until 4 pm rolled around.
Here are some photos of us being pros. After being pros, we had dinner at the dining hall. It was themed tonight; Dutch oven. The BBQ beef was good, as was the potato salad. Their themed dinners seem to be better than their regular dinner... We then finished the night watching "Raise of the Guardians." What an amazing movie! I highly recommend it. Twas a great night.
Well folks, that's my day for you. A good day too.
And that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
